Who Will Be First To Cross The New Tappan Zee Bridge?

(New York, NY) -- There is much speculation over who will be the first to cross the new Tappan Zee Bridge when it opens later this month.

Governor Cuomo has been vocal about his wish to bless the bridge in Franklin D. Roosevelt's newly-restored 1932 state car. However, no announcement has been made.

The nearly four-million-dollar bridge, recently named the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, will open to Rockland-bound traffic August 25th. Westchester-bound traffic will likely be diverted in September. The old bridge will then be torn down while the second span is completed. Copyright © 2017 TTWN Media Networks Inc.
