(Mahopac, NY) -- Putnam County authorities say a fox that attacked a local woman did have rabies.
The Mahopac woman was in her yard on Saturday when a gray fox came out of the woods and bit her on the foot. As the woman fled the yard, the wild animal followed her into her home. The woman trapped it inside, got her children to safety and is now receiving anti-rabies treatment.
