A Dutchess County man was killed when a tree he was cutting down fell on top of him.
State Police say 38-year-old Zane Gray from Union Vale, was cutting trees with a chainsaw before 11:30 yesterday morning as he cleared land on Mallory Road. Upon arriving on the scene, first responders immediately attempted to remove the victim from underneath the tree. He lost consciousness and troopers, assisted by EMStar EMS, began life saving measures. Gray was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie where he died.
The State Police were assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office. Also responding to the scene were Union Vale Rescue Squad, the Union Vale Fire Department and EMStar Ambulance.
