(Clearwater, FL) -- Tim Tebow remains a box-office smash on the Gulf Coast. More than 55-hundred people turned out as Tebow and the St. Lucie Mets opened a four-game series at Clearwater last night.
The former Florida Gators and NY Jets quarterback delivered a two-run single in the Mets' 12-to-7 win. Even though they were losing, the hometown Threshers celebrated Tebow's 30th birthday by bringing a birthday cake onto the roof of the Mets' dugout and leading the fans in singing "Happy Birthday."
