Over 100 tickets were issued by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Department during a “Move Over” law special enforcement campaign.
Earlier this month deputies conducted the enforcement effort on several four lane highways with the help of Town of Ulster police and Town of Lloyd police. The “Move Over” law requires motorists to move over and provide additional room for emergency vehicles stopped on the shoulder of the road.
“The enforcement details were conducted in the Towns of Ulster, Lloyd and Kingston, as well as the City of Kingston. Over one hundred tickets were issued during this time and the detail on Route 9W in the Town of Lloyd also yielded one arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.”
