Governor Cuomo Wants Confederate Streets Renamed

(Brooklyn, NY) -- Governor Andrew Cuomo wants the Army to rename streets in Brooklyn named after Confederate generals.

Earlier this month, the Army refused to rename the Fort Hamilton base streets Stonewall Jackson Drive and General Lee Avenue.

Cuomo says those Confederate leaders fought to protect slavery and there aren't many sides to hatred and bigotry. An Army spokesperson says it will issue a statement responding to Cuomo.
