New York State Police conducted a six hour distracted driver detail on Interstate 684 on Tuesday.
Troopers say they issued 55 tickets. 10 tickets were for speeding, 3 tickets were for seatbelt violations, 11 tickets for cell phone violations, 23 tickets for move-over law violations and 8 tickets for other vehicle and traffic offenses. State Police say the goal of the special enforcement effort is to reduce deaths, injuries and property damage caused by motor vehicle accidents.
