Metro-North Workers Could Go On Strike

(New York, NY) - Many Metro-North workers are threatening to go on strike. 

The Journal News reports that a union with thousands of employees says they'll take action if safety issues aren't addressed. The Association of Commuter Rail Employees also says that Metro- North employees have been working for nine months without contracts in place. The union is planning on taking a vote by the end of next week.

 A spokesman for Metro-North tells the newspaper that the transit agency is having "very productive talks with ACRE and expects to resolve any outstanding issues."
