8 Million New Yorkers Have Been Hacked

(Albany, NY) -- New York state's attorney general is launching an investigation into the major hack of a big credit-reporting agency.

Eric Schneiderman says his office is looking into why and how the Equifax breach happened. It's affected eight-million in the Empire State. The company says it discovered the breach back on July 29th. Meanwhile, Schneiderman is urging New Yorkers to call the company to see if they've been affected. He recommends checking your credit reports from the big three companies and possibly putting a credit freeze on your files.
