Naval Officer Corey Ingram is being remembered today during visitation hours at the VFW Post 170 on Violet Avenue in Poughkeepsie. Visitation hours will continue until 6pm.
Ingram had been an active member of the post during his nine-year career in the Navy. Petty Officer First Class Ingram died on August 25th while serving on the USS John S McCain, when the ship was in a deadly collision with an oil tanker in the South China Sea.
Meanwhile funeral services with full military honors will be held tomorrow at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center with visitation beginning at 10am followed by the funeral services at 11am. The services are open to the public.
