Ellenville schools were locked down yesterday morning after a motorist reported seeing a man with a rifle walking near the schools.
During the lockout no one was allowed to leave or enter the school buildings. Several law enforcement agencies assisted Ellenville Police with a thorough search of the school grounds and the surrounding area. The investigation found that the person in question was a worker with a chainsaw clearing brush at a nearby bridge.
