(New York, NY) -- Halloween is coming and according to a recent Halloween candy study, candy corn does surprisingly well in sales.
Candy wasn't always the focus of the holiday. Trick-or-treating only became widespread in the 1940s, but now candy is king. The average American eats 22 pounds of candy each year.
Candystore.com, which sells candy in bulk across the nation, put together a table of its top sales in each state. New Jersey loves their Skittles, Connecticut enjoys a Mounds bar and New York is the king of Sour Patch Kids.
