Walgreens Is Closing 600 Stores

Walgreens is closing about 600 stores next year.

Many of the stores are currently Rite Aid drugstores that Walgreens recently acquired. Stores that are within a mile of another Walgreens or Rite Aid are the ones being closed.  The company has not yet released a list of the stores that will be shutting down.

Walgreens plans to begin the closures in March of next year.  It isn’t clear how many employees will be impacted by the closures.
