(Albany, NY) -- The rains and winds, that came on the 5th anniversary of Superstorm Sandy, were relentless, leading to numerous accidents and some roadway flooding and resulted in many trees and power lines coming down. Officials estimate between two and four inches of rain had fallen as of midnight and some areas recorded six inches of rain when the readings from the storm were all totaled out.
According to unofficial numbers from the National Weather Service, Wingdale checked in with 3.77 inches of rain, Pleasant Valley reported 3.58 inches, Hopewell Junction recorded 2.91 inches and 2.03 inches fell on Poughkeepsie. In Ulster County West Shokan reported 6.04 inches of rain, Phoenicia checked in with 6 inches and 2.71 inches of water fell on Kingston.
