Underage Drinking Crackdown In Dutchess County

New York State Police in Wappinger over the weekend conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative at several locations in Dutchess County.

During the initiative 20 of the stores in Fishkill, Beacon, Wappinger and the Town of Poughkeepsie were found to be in compliance.   Employees at two gas stations were arrested for allegedly selling alcoholic beverages to undercover State Police operatives.

“According to the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, underage drinking is associated with the three most common causes of death among youth who consume alcohol, including accidental deaths (e.g., car crashes), homicides, and suicides. The State Police will continue to conduct underage drinker enforcement details statewide in order to protect the citizens of NYS and its youth.”
