Decrease in Property Taxes In Dutchess County

(Poughkeepsie, NY) -- Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro is pushing for increased youth, mental health and addiction services as part of his proposed 2018 budget.

The 480-million-dollar budget, revealed yesterday, also calls for a small decrease in property taxes, as well as a spending increase of two-point-eight-percent. The plan, which now heads to the county legislature, proposes a property rate of three-dollars and fifty-four cents, compared to three-dollars and fifty-eight cents in 2017. Molinaro also predicts the county will collect two-percent more in sales taxes next year.
