Election day brought some surprises in Dutchess County including in the County Comptroller’s race, the only county-wide race on the ballot.
It appears Republican Incumbent Jim Coughlan went down to defeat to challenger Robin Lois. In unofficial numbers from the county Board of Elections Lois gets 50.3 percent of the vote and Coughlan gets 49.6 percent of the vote. Lois leads Coughlan by about 400 votes. Paper ballots could be a factor in the race.
