Seven courageous City of Poughkeepsie firemen received life-saving awards yesterday.
Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Mark Johnson and Mayor Rob Rolison presented the firefighters with the awards at the Public Safety Building on Main Street. Firefighters Mark Camuto, Tim Rose and Tim Tyan received awards for their heroic actions saving victims at a fire on Stout Court back in April.
Firefighters Tim Flynn and Paul Bucher got awards for their heroic actions at a fire in June on Hooker Avenue. At that same fire, Captain Steve Bauer went in to the burning building to save a woman, he received the deparment’s Medal of Honor for his heroic actions.
