(Nyack, NY) -- Thousands of folks in the Hudson Valley want to dump the name of the new Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.
A petition on "change.org" has gathered more than 40-thousand signatures and is demanding that the bridge go by its original name, the Tappan Zee Bridge. Many say the bridge should continue to honor the Tappan, a local native American tribe, and not be named after a politician.
Governor Andrew Cuomo named the new three-point-nine million-dollar bridge after his late father and governor earlier this year.
