(New Windsor, NY) -- More than 20 employees and seven firefighters were injured following an explosion at a cosmetics plant in Orange County. Officials say the explosion this morning triggered a fire, which has been sending smoke billowing from the Verla International plant in New Windsor. None of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
24/7 NewsSource reports the smell from the fire at the building on Temple Hill Road is also a concern and Hazmat crews are on the scene. Officials are ordering residents in the area to shelter in place and shut their windows because of the smoke.

(New Windsor, NY) -- A fire this morning was raging at a manufacturing plant in Orange County.
Witnesses say they heard multiple explosions coming from the Verla International plant on Temple Hill Road in New Windsor that produces nail polish. There are no reports of injuries but first responders are evaluating dozens of people near the site just east of Interstate 87. Hazmat crews also responded to the scene.
