Hidden Sugar Effects

This story broke earlier this year and is now getting a second wind.  The sugar industry is being accused of hiding facts about the ties between sugar consumption and cardiovascular disease.

According to 24/7 News Source newly uncovered historic documents by the University of California at San Francisco revealed the findings of research done by the Sugar Association back in the 1960s. The research revealed a link from eating sugar to an increased risk of heart attacks or strokes.

Experts say when data suggested that sugar was harmful, the powerful industry pointed the finger at fats in order to protect its economic interests.
