Crystal Run Mall On Lockdown

Reports of gunfire interrupted a very busy shopping day at the Crystal Run Mall in Middletown.  

 Two people were injured in an incident about 3:07 pm near the American Eagle Store.  The Crystal Run mall was placed in lockdown as officers from several agencies converged on the facility along with K-9 teams to search for a possible gunman. Police evacuated customers from all of the shops.  It was quickly determined that it was not an active shooter situation.

Town of Walkill Police say they are searching for a man who discharged a gunshot into the floor of the mall.  It is not clear if the shot was accidental or intentional.  The two victims suffered minor injuries.

 Two people were injured in an incident about 3:20pm near or in the American Eagle Store.  The Crystal Run mall was placed in lockdown as officers from several agencies converged on the facility along with K-9 teams to search for a possible gunman.  It was quickly determined that it was not an active shooter situation.  Police are investigating if the gunfire was due to an accidental discharge.

 Mall security says the mall remained on lockdown into the evening.
