(New York, NY) -- America's number-two movie theater chain is selling out to a British company.
U.S. theater operator Regal Entertainment Group and Britain's Cineworld Group announced today that Cineworld will pay three-point-six billion dollars for Regal. The deal is expected to make the combined company more competitive against U.S. industry leader AMC Entertainment. Regal shows movies on more than seven-thousand screens in more than 550 theaters across the U.S., including: Regal Galleria Mall Stadium 16 in Poughkeepsie, the Regal Hudson Valley Mall 12 near Kingston, and the Regal Fishkill 10.
