Winter storm warnings and watches are being posted along the East Coast as a storm with the potential for significant snowfall is moving north. While the prediction is for blizzard like conditions on Long Island, Hudsonvalleyweather.com is predicting 4 to 8 inches for Dutchess County, with wind gusts of 40mph.
The National Weather Service expects the storm system to strengthen as it moves into the mid-Atlantic tonight, dumping more snow on its way northward. Snow and icy conditions are already making driving hazardous from Georgia to the Carolinas.
