Homicide In Poughkeepsie

City of Poughkeepsie Police are investigating the death of a man after he was found with serious injuries in his home at 2 Wantaugh Avenue.

Family members had asked police to check on 68 year old James Griffin after they were unable to contact him for several days.  Griffin was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where he underwent brain surgery but died yesterday.

An autopsy conducted today by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed Griffin was the victim of a homicide.  Police say the investigation continues and there is currently no threat to public safety.  Anyone with  information that might be helpful is asked to call police at (845) 451-7577.
