(Ellenville, NY) -- Three people are dead in Ulster County following an apparent murder-suicide. The victims were pronounced dead after being found in the parking lot of an Ellenville apartment complex. Police say the shootings occurred at just before 10:00 a.m. inside the lot at 110 Center Street, near Canal Street. Village schools were temporarily placed on lockdown due to the initial belief a suspect was at large. The weapon used in the killings was recovered at the scene.

Multiple fatalities were reported after a shooting in the Village of Ellenville this morning.
The shooting at 110 Center Street happened shortly before 10am. Word of the shooting led to a lockdown at the Ellenville School District campus which lasted for nearly two hours. Police remain on the scene of the shootings at apartments on Center Street.
