(New Canaan, CT) -- A ten-year-old Connecticut boy's death may have resulted from a flu infection.
Nico Mallozzi was attending a hockey tournament in New York last weekend when he felt too sick to continue and had to be hospitalized. Doctors later confirmed the child tested positive for influenza but it's not clear if that's what caused him to die. Mallozzi was a fourth grader at New Canaan public schools. Superintendent Dr. Bryan Luizzi released a statement detailing concerns over the deadly flu strain, and saying grief counselors will be made available to students.
