(Poughkeepsie, NY) -- A Poughkeepsie community is seeking to stop gun violence after a man was shot and killed over the weekend.
"The Poughkeepsie Journal" reports dozens of local leaders and residents attended a rally last night at the Earline Patrice Park at Mansion Square, not far from where 35-year-old Noel McClinton was gunned down early Saturday. Police Chief Thomas Pape says McClinton's death was the first gun-related homicide since August 2016. Community members are calling for increased lighting and security camera upgrades and say they must stick together to end gun violence.
