Walkway Race Series Will Not Happen This Year

The 2018 Walkway Race Series will not happen this year.

The Walkway Over the Hudson and Dutchess Tourism announcing today that the race scheduled for June 9th has been postponed.  In a release organizers said, “Race partners were up against a number of scheduling and logistics difficulties that impacted this year’s race planning and execution.”

Walkway Executive Director Elizabeth Waldstein-Hart points to the scheduled construction of the Dutchess Welcome Center, as one of the factors that led to the cancellation of this year’s race.  She held out the possibility that the race could once again be held next year.  “In 2019, as we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Walkway Over the Hudson, we look forward to continuing our partnership with Dutchess County Government, Dutchess Tourism and all of our other partners to plan a series of exciting events and programs that could include a walk, run or race series.”
