(Albany, NY) -- The New York Senate is considering a bill that would legalize sports betting in the Empire State.
The legislation, introduced yesterday, would make it legal to place sports bets in casinos and online. There would be an eight-and-a-half-percent tax on gross revenue. Proponents say legalized sports betting would generate between ten and 30-million-dollars a year for New York.
