Many students in the Wappingers School District are wearing orange today in memory of the 17 people killed by a gunman last month at a Parkland, Florida high school.
Students in the John Jay and Roy C. Ketchum high schools plan on participating in a nationwide walkout beginning at 10 am. Those plan to go to the gym for a student rally.
Students say they hope the walkout pushes lawmakers to pass more anti- gun violence legislation.
