(New York, NY) -- Severe weather is rolling into the Hudson Valley along with strong winds, heavy rain and possible lightning.
High wind warnings are posted for Dutchess and Ulster counties with gusts of up-to-60-miles-per-hour expected.

Terryville, Thomaston, Catskill, Coxsackie, Athens, Cairo,
Jefferson Heights, Hudson, Kingston, New Paltz, Poughkeepsie,
Beacon, and Arlington

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM EDT THURSDAY...
The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a High Wind
Warning, which is in effect until 5 AM EDT Thursday. The Wind
Advisory is no longer in effect.
* Locations...the Mid Hudson Valley and southern Litchfield
County in Connecticut.
* Winds...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
* Timing...Strongest winds this afternoon through tonight.
* Impacts...Downed trees, tree limbs and power lines, which may
cause scattered power outages. Difficult travel conditions,
especially for high profile vehicles.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.
