Newburgh Mayor Judy Kennedy died yesterday after her battle with ovarian cancer. Poughkeepsie Mayor Rob Rolison says no matter what challenge Mayor Kennedy faced her “energy and enthusiasm never wavered.”
Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus put out a statement saying "she will be missed for her hard work, compassion and commitment to residents of Newburgh." He went on to write "Mayor Kennedy fought cancer graciously and valiantly." Kennedy was first elected mayor of Newburgh in 2011 and was re-elected in 2015. She was 73-years old.
