Allegiant Fires Back

Las Vegas, NV) -- Allegiant Airlines is firing back after a CBS "60 Minutes" report claimed the airline has a high rate of mechanical malfunctions.

In a YouTube video to customers, CEO Maury Gallagher says their recent FAA audit shows no major problems and the small problems noted were immediately corrected. The report Sunday said that the airline had at least 100 serious mechanical incidents between January 2016 and October 2017. He says in 2015, there were some problems with reliability, so they upgraded their fleet of planes.

Gallagher says his family and the employees have no problem flying with Allegiant because safety is their number-one priority.  Allegiant offers passenger service out of Stewart Airport near Newburgh.
