(Goshen, NY) -- Orange County officials want schools to improve safety.
County Executive Steve Neuhaus, working with the Police Advisory Board, has unveiled five recommendations to keep kids and teens safe on campus. The proposals include armed police officers, a shared database and more cameras placed around school campuses. The districts would have to pay for the security upgrades. The recommendations come after February's deadly school shooting in Florida.
