Liquidators are taking over Bon-Ton stores, as a plan to rescue the nationwide retailer fell through. Officials say more than 200 stores, including the one in the Newburgh Mall in Orange County, will close.
The owners last week thought they had a deal that would keep most stores in business, but the Bankruptcy judge ruled against the proposal so now the stores will be liquidated.
Going out of business sales will last for about ten weeks.
