(New York, NY) -- Governor Cuomo is suspending road and bridge construction projects on New York highways throughout the Memorial Day weekend to help ease congestion.
All nonessential projects will be suspended from 6 a.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Tuesday. Triple-A predicts almost 42-million people will be traveling this Memorial Day weekend, which is the highest volume in more than a dozen years. The auto group predicts just over 36-million will be traveling by car.
The governor is also urging drivers to use the 64 so-called text stops located statewide for making phone calls and texts to avoid distracted driving.
