Joe Torre Wants Tight Regulations On Sports Betting

(Albany, NY) -- Former Yankees manager Joe Torre is in Albany pushing for a bill that regulates sports betting.

Torre who is now a top executive for Major League Baseball told reporters he's at the state capital on behalf of the league.  State lawmakers are mulling regulations on sports bets.  Torre argued for legalization in a way that still protects the integrity of the game.

His visit comes a week after ex-Yankees skipper Joe Girardi was in Albany making his push to legalize sports betting in New York following the May 14th Supreme Court ruling to allow states to do so.
