(East Rutherford, NJ) -- The New York Giants new general manager is beginning treatment for cancer.
The team released a statement this afternoon saying that Dave Gettleman was diagnosed recently with lymphoma. Gettleman, who was hired last December following the Giants' disappointing 3-13 season, says he'll be in constant communication with Head Coach Pat Shurmur and Assistant GM Kevin Abrams while undergoing treatment. The 67-year-old says the prognosis is positive and, therefore, so is he.
