(Poughkeepsie, NY) -- Fireworks are now or sale across much of New York State including Dutchess and Ulster counties.
New York State law allows for the sale of "sparkling devices", which are defined as devices that produce sparks, colored flames, whistling noises, and smoke. People need to be 18 or older to buy and operate the pyrotechnics. The law states that fireworks can only be sold in New York from June 1st through July 5th and December 26th to January 1st.
