(New Rochelle, NY) -- U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer is urging Metro-North to put in technology that's meant to prevent a disaster on the rails.
Positive Train Control equipment can slow trains down to prevent crashes and derailments. The deadline to install the technology was at the end of this year, but transit officials say they're going to need more time. Schumer doesn't want Metro-North to wait any longer, and is calling on the agency to put in "PTC" as soon as possible. He says the equipment could save lives by preventing deadly crashes.
