(Newburgh, NY) -- Opening ceremonies were held yesterday when the traveling Vietnam Memorial Exhibit arrived at the Newburgh Waterfront.
The “Wall that Heals” is a replica of the war memorial in Washington, DC and will be in Newburgh through 2pm on Sunday. The Wall carries the names of more than 53 thousand fallen soldiers. An adjoining 53-foot long trailer serves as a mobile education center with a timeline of the Vietnam War. A candlelight vigil is scheduled for 7:30 tonight.
Central Hudson is the primary sponsor of the exhibit and 18 Central Hudson employee-volunteers are assisting visitors with locating names on the wall. The exhibit is free for visitors.
