More Longhorned Ticks Found In The Hudson Valley

(New City, NY)  --  The longhorned  tick is discovered in Rockland County.

The new type of tick had  previously been discovered in Westchester County and New York City.  The  tick is not native to the U.S. and is commonly found in Australia, New  Zealand, and eastern Asia.  Rockland officials are urging people to put  on bug spray and wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts when spending  time in wooded areas.
