More Sears & K-Mart Stores Are Closing

(New York, NY) -- Sears Holdings is closing nearly four-dozen more stores including four in New York.

The struggling retailer will close 46 stores, 33 Sears locations and 13 Kmarts. The company says all those stores are losing money and they will be shut down in November. The first going-out-of-business sales will begin one week from today.

A K-Mart store in Riverhead,NY and Sears stores in Glens Falls, New Hyde Park and Victor, NY are all on the list.  Sears has closed nearly 400 stores over the past year.  It's struggling with declining mall traffic, inability to generate enough online sales, lack of investment in stores, and heavy pension costs.
