Interfaith Solidarity Vigil In Poughkeepsie


(Poughkeepsie, NY)  --  An interfaith solidarity vigil will be held in Poughkeepsie tonight in support of the Jewish Community in Pittsburgh.  The vigil at the Temple Beth-El 118 S. Grand Avenue at 6:00pm is open to the public and is being co-sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Dutchess County and Dutchess County Interfaith Council.

From the press release, “we are devastated by this horrific act of anti-semitism and hate. Our hearts break for the families who’s loved ones were killed. We pray for healing and recovery for the wounded and all who have been impacted by this senseless act of violence. We also offer our gratitude to the first responders who risked their lives to prevent further bloodshed.”

Poughkeepsie Mayor Rob Rolison and Sheriff Butch Anderson will be among the speakers which also include local clergy and other community leaders.
