(New York, NY) -- Governor Cuomo and his Republican challenger Marc Molinaro are casting their votes this Election Day.
Cuomo showed up at his Mount Kisco polling site with girlfriend Sandra Lee. Molinaro cast his ballot with his family in Red Hook, New York. Cuomo who is seeking a third term as New York governor has been ahead in the polls by double digits. Molinaro is hoping for an upset, like in 1994, when little-known George Pataki knocked off Cuomo's father Mario to win the governor's race.
Besides the Governor’s race, voters statewide are casting their ballots in three other significant races. Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is looking to stay in office but is being challenged by Republican Chele Farley. In the race for comptroller, incumbent Democrat Tom DiNapoli is up against Republican Jonathan Trichter. And in the battle for New York Attorney General, Democrat Letitia James and Republican Keith Wofford are going head-to-head.
One of the most closely watched congressional races in the country is happening right here in the Hudson Valley. Republican Congressman John Faso is locked in a tight battle with Democrat Antonio Delgado. Polls suggest the race could be extremely close. Faso is hoping for another term in Washington, while Delgado is making his first bid for elected office.
