Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Gets Its Star

(New York, NY)  --  The  Rockefeller Christmas Tree from Orange County is getting all decked out for the holidays.

A  new crystal star is being hoisted to the top of the 72-foot Norway  Spruce today.  This year's Swarovski Star includes three-million  crystals with triangular spikes.  The nine-foot tree topper will be lit  on November 28th during the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting ceremony.

Swarovski worked with architect Daniel Libeskind to create the brand new star.  The Walkill tree is the first to be topped by the crystal creation. It is the first redesign since 2004.
