Snowstorm Causes Lots Of Problems;


(Poughkeepsie, NY)  --  The first snowstorm of the season caused a lot of problems on local roads and highways.  

Dutchess County Emergency Response experienced very high call volume into the 911 Communications Center through the evening and overnight with reports of accidents and stranded vehicles.

Many accidents were reported in Dutchess County including on Route 9 in the Town of Poughkeepsie, the Taconic State Parkway in LaGrange, Salt Point Turnpike in Pleasant Valley and on Route 376 in New Hackensack.  A section of St. Andrews Road in Hyde Park was shut down at about 8 last night due to hazardous conditions.
