(New York, NY) -- New York's attorney general is putting out a consumer alert for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Barbara Underwood says beware of sales and bargains that may not be as good as they seem. She warns there are lots of stores that mark items up before marking them down. Underwood also says make sure to check a merchant's return and refund policy and read a product's warranty before you buy.
She also warns of scammers who try to lure Cyber Monday shoppers into visiting fake websites.
