A Big Night Tonight For A Hudson Valley Tree

(New York, NY) -- The 86th annual Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting ceremony takes place tonight.

More than 50-thousand multi-colored, energy efficient LED lights will be lit on the 72-foot-tall tree that hails from Walkill in the Hudson Valley. The ceremony hosted by NBC's Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, and Craig Melvin will include live performances from Pentatonix, Darci Lynne Farmer, and Kellie Pickler, with a special appearance by Howie Mandel.

There are additional performances from Diana Ross, Tony Bennett & Diana Krall, Brett Eldredge, John Legend, and Martina McBride. There will be lots of street closures around Rockefeller Center and security will be tight with all spectators needing to pass through a security screening prior to entering the tree-lighting area.
